Important Calendar Events….

On behalf of the entire Winthrop High School faculty, we appreciate those parents/guardians for meeting with us during our scheduled Parent/Teacher conferences this past week. We had a fantastic turnout, with many more appointments that in previous years. I am hoping that many of you were able to stop in to discuss your learners progress. Please do not hesitate to contact any of our faculty members with any questions if you were not able to attend.

We have a few important meetings for parents and students in this week's bulletin…..

Our Winter Athletic Parent/Student evening will be taking place on Wednesday, November 12th at 6:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. This is an important meeting to discuss coaching philosophies, mandatory paperwork, and our expectations regarding the Code of Conduct of participation. This venue also allows parents the opportunity to meet with coaches that will ultimately serve an important role in your learners life for the next few months.

The Winthrop High School Guidance Department will be hosting a financial aid night will be held on November 19th at 6:00 p.m. in our Performing Arts Center.  This meeting is important for parents of Senior students who are interested in post-secondary planning and financial aid information. We encourage all parents (underclassmen parents as well) to attend should they be interested. This meeting most often is well attended and we are also opening this venue up to parents of Maranacook Community High School as well.

The Winthrop High School administration will be calling our first meeting with parents of 9th grade students on December 3rd at 6:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. The administration will discuss our continued transition to Proficiency Based Education, improvements to standards based grading, and how to read our newly designed report cards. We will open up the meeting to a few questions and many more will be collected to address and create agenda's for future meetings.
